Tailor-made design with AI: the new challenge by Dexelance, Meridiani and Metaverso
Artificial intelligence is entering the world of interior design with an all-Italian project: Dexelance, in collaboration with Metaverso (Horsa Group) and the Meridiani brand, today unveiled a new generative AI platform at Salone del Mobile 2025. The project aims to radically transform the design and purchasing experience in the furniture industry. This innovation stems from a concrete need: helping customers visualize their ideal home by bridging the gap between design and imagination—often a stumbling block in decision-making. The platform, tailored to the world of interior design, understands the Meridiani brand's style, materials, and finishes, allowing users to generate custom-made spaces in seconds by simply uploading an image or indicating aesthetic preferences. With the new platform, architects and interior designers can quickly produce personalized proposals, explore multiple stylistic variations, and focus on the creative and technical phases of the project rather than spending valuable time manually producing renderings. In the B2B segment, the tool proves equally strategic, optimizing the design process for showrooms and contract projects, significantly reducing time and costs.
"I envision that the most innovative architecture studios will one day be able to create and train their own AI agent—customized to their unique style and integrated with the brands and partner products they work with," said Mirco Cervi, Chief Digital Officer at Dexelance. "They might even ask us to share some of the training we've already done on our brands or to connect multiple platforms."
The first brand "trained" by the platform is Meridiani. Still, the goal is to gradually extend the use of generative AI across all Dexelance Group brands (Gervasoni, Very Wood, Meridiani, Davide Groppi, Saba Italia, Flexalighting, Axolight, Gamma Arredamenti, Cubo Design, Binova, Miton Cucine, Turri), creating an integrated ecosystem to support consumers, designers, and companies across the entire supply chain.
