The macroeconomic events calendar for March 24, 2025
Today promises to be a busy day for macroeconomic events. There will be a particular focus on PMI indices in Europe and the United States, as well as a series of government bond auctions and speeches by central bankers that could influence the markets. The day kicks off with the release of PMI indices in France. The March manufacturing index is expected at 46.2. The services sector could also show a slight recovery. Shortly after, Germany will publish its PMI indices. The performance of the services sector is particularly anticipated, with expectations of reaching 52.3, signalling a more substantial expansion than last month's 51.1.,The Eurozone will release its manufacturing and services PMI indices at 10:00 AM. The United Kingdom will follow with its own PMI data at 10:30 AM. The composite index is projected at 50.5, the manufacturing index at 47.3, and the services sector at 51.2, confirming an ongoing uncertain situation for the British economy. Across the Atlantic, the U.S. session will begin with the Chicago Fed National Activity Index at 1:30 PM, offering a snapshot of the U.S. economic performance in February. At 2:45 PM, U.S. PMI data for March will be released. Key bond auctions are also on the agenda. France will offer BTF securities with maturities of 3, 6, and 12 months, with yields at 2.348%, 2.306%, and 2.279%, respectively. In the afternoon, the U.S. will auction 3-month and 6-month Treasury bills, with estimated yields of 4.205% and 4.100%, respectively. Finally, attention will turn to speeches from central bankers. Raphael Bostic, a member of the FOMC, will speak at 6:45 PM, followed by Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey at 7:00 PM, and Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michael Barr at 8:10 PM.
